in a recent poll in my newsletter and on social media, people voted that they just want help deciding what to post next. Keep reading to find out how to figure that out:
π§ Catch up on my podcast on Apple, Spotify or this link . In a recent episode, I shared the time I was a guest on the This Mother Means Business podcast and we chatted about building a business with kids of all ages.
Not sure what to post next? You aren’t alone.
It doesn’t make it any easier, but often when we don’t know what to post, it’s because we either a) don’t have a great plan in place that makes it easier or b) are just feeling overwhelmed and over it all.
What to post next on social media: 4 ideas to get you started
1) What’s been your best seller?
What product sold the most last month/week/season? What service are you noticing people looking for more often? Have any of your sales surprised you with how popular an item or service was?
That’s the post.
Format: Reel style with you speaking to camera.
Or static/carousel post with image of the item or product mock up.
π‘(Don’t forget to add trending music!)
Call to action to add to the post: Ask followers who wants or needs the product and/or who already has it!
2) Did you know? post
Share something about your industry that may surprise people. Or share a secret tip or highlight a method that you use to help your clients get results. Share a bit of information about behind the scenes – your packaging, or decision making process.
Format: Reel while speaking to camera, B-Roll with the ‘did you know?’ text over it, or static post
Call to action: Ask followers to sign up for your newsletter to get more behind the scenes and helpful tips
3) Re-introduce yourself
It’s probably been a while, and you likely have new followers, or your existing followers can use the reminder about who you are. Share something about you – why or when you started your business, what you love about it, your favourite non-business activity etc.
Format: Carousel (with music) – swipe through. Use images and in-app text to write on them (don’t worry about making Canva slides!)
Call to action: Ask others to share a bit about them too (asking a specific question can help!)
4) A Remember When? Post
Share a throw-back to an earlier time in your business. Maybe your first logo, or first photo shoot. Share a win from a week ago, or three months ago!
Format: Static image or carousel.
Call to action: Encourage others to do the same and ask to be tagged in other peopleβs posts, stories etc.
Tag me if you share any of these types of posts!
